Applications for the Fellow of the ISHLT (ISHLTF) Program are now being accepted through Wednesday, 16 September. This honorary post-nominal designation recognizes dedicated ISHLT members and their contributions to the field as well as their commitment and service to the Society.

The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation (JHLT), an official publication of the ISHLT, will release a special issue in the first quarter of 2027 dedicated to manuscripts focused on precision medicine across the patient journey continuum from thoracic organ transplantation candidacy through longitudinal post-transplant care. Submissions for this issue are now being accepted until Friday, 18 September.

This month, JHLT: The Podcast is re-releasing a past audience favorite episode discussing the efficacy and safety of sotatercept in patients with PAH with Ioana Preston, MD, of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.

Eight of ISHLT’s Professional Communities are seeking nominations for 18 open positions on the Interdisciplinary Network Steering Committees and Early Career and Trainee Committee. Nominations will be accepted Friday, 24 July through Friday, 14 August.

ISHLT has issued a new statement, Protecting the Research Enterprise That Advances Thoracic Transplantation and Patient Care, emphasizing the importance of independent peer review, stable and transparent research funding, open scientific communication, scientific meetings, international collaboration, and sustained support for research that advances patient care worldwide. The statement was submitted to the U.S. Office of Management and Budget as part of ISHLT’s public comment on proposed federal funding rules affecting scientific research.

The ISHLT2027 Scientific Program Planning Committee is hosting a webinar on Thursday, 23 July at 12:00 p.m. AEST / Wednesday 22 July at 10:00 p.m. ET on the best practices for submitting an abstract to ISHLT2027.
