Lifetime Achievement Award
The
ISHLT Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed annually by the Board of Directors on an individual whose lifetime body of work has either:
- Made a significant contribution toward improving the care of patients with advanced heart or lung disease OR
- Engaged in pioneering work that improved the care of patients with advanced heart or lung disease
Award Details
The awardee will most commonly be a current or former ISHLT member, but other meritorious individuals may be considered on a case by case basis as long as clear justification is provided concerning why a non-member should be considered.
This
Award incorporates the former Pioneer Award and Lifetime Service Award.
Eligibility Criteria
- ISHLT members and non-members are eligible for nomination
- Justification for the nomination of a non-member candidate must be provided by the nominator.
- Nominees must have a minimum of 15 years of post-training experience in the field.
Review Process
Selection Committee
- The award Selection Committee will be made up of the three most recent Past Presidents.
- In the event that an ISHLT Staff member is nominated, the ISHLT CEO (or proxy) will join the Selection Committee.
Review
- All nominations will be reviewed by the Selection Committee to identify up to five top nominees, for consideration by the ISHLT Leadership Advisory Forum (LAF).
- The LAF will review the selected nominees and recommend 0–2 candidates for consideration by the ISHLT Board of Directors.
- The Board will review the candidates recommended by the LAF and determine the final grant recipient.
