J Heart Lung Transplant. August 2025.
Pediatric heart failure (HF) secondary to cardiomyopathies, acquired heart disease, and congenital heart disease (CHD) remains associated with significant morbidity and mortality. These guidelines represent an update from the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation guidelines for the management of pediatric HF that were published in 2014.
The purpose of this update is to incorporate advancements in pharmacologic therapies and new approaches in the evaluation and management of children with HF since the prior guideline publication. These guidelines are not intended for use in the management of HF related to left to right shunts and are primarily focused on the population of children with HF due to dysfunction of the myocardium.
