The 2025 ISHLT Foundation Annual Impact Report is now available.
The report includes results and milestones that reflect the Foundation's deep commitment to investing in the future of advanced heart and lung disease and failure. A central part of the Foundation’s mission is supporting early-career investigators as they build their networks and pursue questions that advance the science and practice of heart and lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
Research funding at this stage of a career can provide the resources and recognition needed to generate preliminary data, build collaborations, and position investigators for future opportunities. Through its grants, the ISHLT Foundation helps promising researchers take the next step in developing ideas that can benefit patients around the world.
This report reflects what the generosity of this global community can accomplish.
The ISHLT Board of Directors has already demonstrated its confidence in the future of our field by committing a challenge gift of $500,000 USD to the ISHLT Foundation in 2026. Now, they are inviting every member of the ISHLT community to join them.
Since its inception, the ISHLT Foundation has awarded more than $2 million USD in research and career development grants. Those investments have helped investigators launch new projects, build research programs, and contribute new knowledge that advances patient care.
