Professional Community Awards for Excellence

The purpose of these awards is to recognize and encourage investigation and professional excellence in each of the Professional Communities represented within ISHLT, to support the component groups that enable ISHLT's interdisciplinary approach and to elevate and empower all Professional Communities equally.

Three eligible authors from each of the above Professional Communities whose top-scoring abstracts are selected for oral presentation will be named as finalists. These presentations will be recorded and judged online after the meeting by a panel of experts.

Up to ten awards are offered annually, one for each Professional Community. Each award recipient will receive complimentary registration to the next year's Annual Meeting.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidate must be a current member of ISHLT.
  • Candidate must be a current member of one of the ten ISHLT Professional Communities
  • Candidate must be the first author and presenter of the abstract.
  • Candidate must not have previously won an award in this category.

First authors who meet all eligibility criteria during abstract submission are automatically considered for the award sponsored by their Primary Professional Community (identified on their membership profile).
