Preparation Tips
  1. Review the ISHLT CME Guidance: Aligning your proposal with its components can strengthen its relevance to the Society’s goals.
  2. Explore the Curated Topics Lists. These are organized by IDN based on feedback from theISHLT2025 Annual Meeting Evaluation Survey, and can be used to align your proposal with the community’scurrent interests and priorities.
  3. Engage the Community: PC and IDN forums via ISHLTconnect, and consult the appropriate IDN Steering Committee for input before submitting. They can help identify and prioritize relevant topics.

Top Reasons for Proposal Modifications or Rejection
  • Incomplete or missing information
  • Content overlap with other submissions
  • Topic repetition from recent ISHLT Annual Meetings: priority is given to fresh and innovative topics
  • Insufficient multidisciplinary representation
  • Lack of Geographic representation (including lack of Asia-Pacific representation), Gender balance, and Generational mix
  • Low reviewer scores, based on the evaluation criteria

The Program Committee will most likely adjust or combine proposals to develop the strongest possible sessions. Factors considered include multidisciplinary representation, reviewer evaluations, content priority and overlap, and representation of the 3Gs.
