Make ISHLT2026 Make a Difference: Pack a Purpose
As part of ISHLT’s social responsibility initiatives, the Society is hosting a donation drive at ISHLT2026 to support Not Just Tourists and its commitment to ending the waste of usable medical supplies by getting them to those in most need.
At our drive for NJT during the ISHLT Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions, we’re requesting the donation of easy-to-transport wound care items, like:
- Band-aids
- Ace bandages
- Sterile Gauze (4x4 or 2x2 preferred)
- Kling Rolls (4” and 6”)
There will be a donation bin on-site in Toronto.
Not Just Tourists (NJT) receives donations of medical supplies, which are packed by volunteers into suitcases during weekly “packing parties.” Travelers to key locations worldwide sign up and are given the suitcases to deliver to remote clinics where they are needed. NJT is fully volunteer-driven; it is non-political and non-religious, and doesn’t accept outside funding.
