The ISHLT International Thoracic Organ Transplant (TTX) Registry hosted a special session at ISHLT2025 in Boston. This session offered a unique global perspective on thoracic transplantation, highlighting the recent progress in international data sharing with the ISHLT Registry following the challenges of evolving privacy regulations. Chaired by Rebecca Cogswell, MD, the session marked a pivotal milestone in the Registry’s re-launch and showcased successful 2024 data transfers from several key regional collectives.

The participating collective—representing the UK, Brazil, ScandiaTransplant, KOTRY Heart and Lung—presented regional analyses, trends in cardiothoracic transplantation practices and survival rates, advancements in donor management strategies, and shared key regional variations in access and allocation.

This session underscored the expanding global collaboration within the thoracic transplant community and reinforced the importance of harmonized data sharing to enhance clinical insights and improve patient outcomes worldwide.
