The Basics of Fontan Failure in the Adult Patient: Understanding the Plumbing, Progression and Potential for Advanced Therapies

Adults with congenital heart disease palliated with a Fontan circulation are a growing patient population and often experience heart failure that requires consideration for advanced cardiac therapies. This session includes expert discussion of the physiology of the Fontan circulation, signs and symptoms of circulation failure as well as options for advanced therapies including organ transplantation. The final 15 minutes of the session will be dedicated to Q&A with experts in this field. This session is intended for those interested in congenital heart disease, heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, and/or organ transplantation.
