JHLT Call for Papers: Themed Issue on Personalized Medicine in Thoracic TransplantationSubmissions Open: 1 July, 2026
Submissions Deadline: 18 September, 2026
Issue Publication: Q1 2027

As the field of thoracic organ transplantation evolves and matures, increasing emphasis is being placed on individualizing diagnostics and therapeutics. Tailored approaches rather than population- or protocol-based methods are certain to improve patient outcomes, reduce unnecessary testing and treatments, and lower the risk of adverse events.

In recognition of these innovations, the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation (JHLT), an official publication of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), will release a special issue in the first quarter of 2027 dedicated to manuscripts focused on precision medicine across the patient journey continuum from thoracic organ transplantation candidacy through longitudinal post-transplant care. Submissions for this issue are now being accepted until Friday, 18 September, 2026.
