Management of heart failure does not cease after durable MCS implantation and long-term untreated heart failure and persistent congestion can impact MCS morbidity and mortality. During this webinar, speakers will discuss the evaluation of hemodynamics and biomarkers in this patient population and how to optimize pump parameters to mitigate symptoms and optimize the patient-pump interaction. Additionally, speakers will discuss recent additions to the guideline directed medical therapy armamentarium for heart failure and how data from the heart failure literature can be extrapolated to durable MCS patients. Lastly, recovery, both full and partial will be discussed, and how this further impacts the patient-pump interaction.
