An Affiliate Event is any meeting or event not supported by or organized on behalf of industry and requiring space at the Palais des Congrès or being held in the Montréal area between and including Monday, April 20, 2020 and Saturday, April 25, 2020.

Affiliates refers to groups of ISHLT members, whether formal or informal, that are gathering for a purpose related to the interests of ISHLT or the profession of end stage heart and lung disease. Examples include Councils, Committees, Task Forces, Working Groups, Writing Committees, Symposium Planning Groups, University departments, etc.

Affiliate Events may not be held during the restricted times for such events, as listed on the Application Form.

All Affiliate Events fall into one of the following categories:

1. Official ISHLT Affiliate Events
   • includes Annual Meetings of the Scientific Councils
   • Annual Meetings of official ISHLT Committees
   • Annual Meetings of Task Forces and workgroups created by directive of the ISHLT Board and tasked with specific deliverables to the Board
      
2. ISHLT Affiliate Events
   • Standards and Guidelines writing groups/writing committees
   • Council Workforces
   • Symposium Planning Groups
   • Academy Planning Groups
   • Joint Symposium Planning Groups
      
3. Affiliate Events
   • Events involving groups of individuals registered for the ISHLT Annual Meeting where:
     • There is no industry funding for the event and the event is not sponsored or organized by industry
     • The event is not an educational activity
     • The event is conducted by a non-industry entity that, in ISHLT’s determination, is engaged in activities related to the interests of ISHLT
     • The event is not deemed by ISHLT to be in competition with or detrimental to the interests of ISHLT
        

Interested in hosting an Affiliate Event? Submit an Affiliate Event Application Form for ISHLT approval. The deadline for all applications is March 5, 2020. Applications received after that date will not be processed or accommodated unless the event is requested by the ISHT Board of Directors, Executive Committee, or a senior staff member. Requests for Affiliate Events that are received during the week of the Annual Meeting will not be accommodated.

All Affiliate Events must be approved in advance by ISHLT. Approval of all Affiliate Events is at the sole discretion of ISHLT.
