ISHLT Academies
The purpose of the ISHLT Academy is to develop an enduring resource of education in core competencies and masters level expertise in the fields of cardiopulmonary transplantation, mechanical and biological support of the failing heart, advanced lung disease (including pulmonary vascular disease) and cell replacement therapy.
The ISHLT Academies draw on the wealth of experience and expertise within the Society to deliver high quality educational experiences with the goal of enabling our members to improve and maintain the highest possible standards in the care of patients with advanced heart and lung disease and those undergoing heart or lung transplantation or mechanical support device implantation.

2024 ISHLT/PHTS Academy Core Competencies in Pediatrics
9 April, 2024 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. CESTCore Competencies in Pediatric Transplantation is a unique course that will be applicable to pediatric transplant team members that participate in either heart or lung transplantation. There will be sessions applicable to both pediatric heart and lung transplantation and then a Heart Pathway breakout and a Lung Pathway breakout.

2024 ISHLT Academy Master Class in Mechanical Circulatory Support
9 April, 2024 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CESTThe MCS Master Class is designed for clinicians with a higher level of expertise in mechanical circulatory support (MCS). The course is intended to generate discussion among experienced users of MCS technologies in order to tackle the most complex nuances of managing these complicated patients.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Pre-Conference Workshop

In addition to the three academy courses being held in Prague, ISHLT is also offering a DEI Workshop, Transforming Transplantation: Building Paths to Equitable Care and Outcomes, on Tuesday, 9 April. The interactive workshop
will explore the factors that influence and interfere with equitable access to transplantation and post transplantation care for patients. Transplant team members will also learn about historical and present forms of systemic bias and
structural racism that influence the organ transplantation process. Robust evidence from multi-disciplinary research studies will be provided for multiple organs and countries.
This workshop is free to attend, but separate registration is required.
